Changelog

Release notes for the Halflight mobile app.

v1.0.13 (in testing)

· iOS

Halflight now supports Bluesky.

  • Sign in with a Bluesky account alongside Pixelfed, Mastodon, and vernissage. Timelines, profiles, posting, replies, likes, reposts, follows, and notifications all work from the same app.
  • Events and groups stay specific to the servers that have them, so those tabs do not appear on a Bluesky account.

v1.0.8 (in testing)

· Android, iOS

Paired release: Android versionCode 12 and iOS build 35 from the same source tree.

  • Video audio now registers with the system media session: lock screen and Control Center controls work, and a new Settings switch turns background playback off entirely.
  • Search rebuilt on scoped queries — accounts, hashtags, and posts load what you asked for, and the search field no longer hides itself while typing.
  • Search gets its chrome back as a stacked pill, replacing the chevron-back header.

v1.0.7 (in testing)

· Android, iOS

Paired release: Android versionCode 11 and iOS build 34 from the same source tree.

  • Saving your profile on a Mastodon account no longer fails with "not found", and a new wire-level parity check keeps the two protocols from drifting apart again.
  • A held or unverified account on your server now signs you out cleanly with a message, instead of leaving the app stuck until reinstall.
  • Failures across the app now say what actually went wrong — offline, timed out, or signed out — each with a retry, and post errors use the same voice.
  • The List Organizer reports real progress while it loads a large follow list, and avoids redoing work when nothing changed on the server.
  • Settings screens share one rounded, inset group style; follow requests no longer cut off the Approve button; Followed Hashtags and Edit Profile were tidied to match.

v1.0.6 (in testing)

· Android, iOS

Both platforms, a few hours apart: Android versionCode 10 rolled out first, iOS build 33 followed to TestFlight.

  • Composing is a full page rather than a sheet, so the Post button, upload progress and the overflow menu stay reachable while the keyboard is up. Creating and editing Mastodon lists moved the same way.
  • Photos and videos start uploading when you pick them instead of when you tap Post.
  • Long-pressing an image no longer opens the save sheet mid-swipe through a carousel.
  • The tapestry is addressed by position rather than by clock time, so scrolling back works on instances that have been quiet for a while.
  • Theming fixes in the menu bar and settings header.
  • Expo SDK 57 and React Native 0.86 underneath, with Tamagui 2.6.

v1.0.3 (in testing)

· iOS, Android

  • New list management for Mastodon.

v1.0.0 (pending app store review)

· iOS, Android

Initial release. Pending App Store and Play Store approval.

  • Multi-account support across Pixelfed and Mastodon instances.
  • Authentication tokens stored in your device's secure enclave (Apple Keychain on iOS, Android Keystore on Android).
  • No analytics. No crash reporting. No first-party servers.
